When I was reading "American Sniper," I have learned alot about myself. One major thing that I have learned was how life isn't as hard as people who are putting their life on the lines for our freedom. People who work harder to create a life for their families live life on the edge for us and them. I have read the book several times making sure everything makes sense. One part the really touched me was when Kyle talked about "his friend Mark who saved others lives by jumping on a grenade, killing him for others safety." Reading that part hit me hard because hearing that his friend did that was a heroic act and an act of love for his men. Another thing was talking about how Chris Kyle is trying to get his life back to normal. All the things he had to go through was more severe than things we all go through, “There's no reason someone who has fought for their country should be homeless of jobless," said Chris Kyle. I agree with that because people are risking their lives for us to live a better life. This book really connects to me and the experiences he went through were very tough and hard, but he fought through it all and treated everyone that cared for him like they were his men and family.

A message that I got out was many. They were about how to get your life back to shape, how to deal with what you have seen and gone through, and last off is sadness. If you decide to read this novel, you will know how hard he struggled through love and emotions. I experienced times where Kyle talked about how he and his wife Taya would talk on the phone and how he dealt with not seeing his family and when he does how his kids don't really know who he was because they really never saw him. The message of sadness was when he had to try to connect to his family. Barely coming home from war he only saw him on the computer or pictures they sent. Last off would be his fight for others. Kyle loved war, like he said numerous times throughout the novel. He was a fighter and a family man after the war he started a company to help veterans start their life as a normal person, but was killed by a man who was a marine with mental problems, mostly ptsd.
